Hi, I'm David (he, his él). I've been a Bus Driver for about 24 years with HSD. I'm grateful to be supporting Classified Staff in the second year of my term as HCU President.
When I ran for office last year, my platform was, "Finding Our Voices Together." That continues to be a high priority for me. As Classified Professionals working together, I want us to help one another find our voices, with each other, and with our Supervisors and Admins.
Myself, I have had a really mixed experience with unions. Some of those experiences, honestly, were really sad in my opinion. For HCU today, though, we work really hard to be collaborative and to listen to one another. We want to listen to all of you who we represent. While we will absolutely speak up for you when needed, we want to help you find your voice.
I wish all of you the best in the new school 26-27 school year.

Hi, I'm Bethany! I am very excited to be serving as the Vice President for HCU. During my fourteen years with the district I have worked as an SEA at Century High School. I have been an active union member during these years serving as a worksite leader, treasurer, secretary, bargaining team member and currently as president. I believe strongly in the collective power that comes with being a dues paying union member. Unions are essential to building a better work environment, through the collective bargaining process. A contract gives us a voice. In my personal time, I enjoy baking, gardening, travel and spending time with my family and fur babies.

I am excited to serve as your HCU treasurer for the next two years. I am looking forward to meeting more of our amazing bargaining unit members this year as I embark on my part time release journey that is pushing me out of my comfort zone. With the support of our members, we can accomplish great things even if the road is long and rocky.
During the other half of my day, I am a School to Career Assistant at Century High School a job and location that I have thoroughly enjoyed for 8 years.
I raised both my boys in the Hillsboro School District and look forward to watching my grandchildren grow up here too.

Hello! My name is Marrea and I'm excited to serve as the Collective Bargaining Officer for HCU. I've worked for HSD since 2015 as an SEA.
I've been a dues paying member of HCU the whole time I have worked for HSD, but the last few years as my children have gotten older I have been able to get more involved with the union. I started out by attending GMM meetings and getting involved with the CAT team. I also joined the PAC, and am a worksite leader. I've attended rallies in Salem, the AFT convention in Seaside and numerous trainings through AFT (including bargaining training in April).
In my former career, I worked for AT&T and was a member of CWA Local 9413. My husband is a member of Local 290 Plumbers & Pipefitters and I have numerous family members who belong to unions. My mom jokes that I was her union baby because she was in labor with me for a week, Monday - Friday from 8a - 5p.
I strongly believe in the power of a union and the collective voice and power of the people. I believe that we are only as strong as our weakest member and it is up to all of us to do our part. I highly encourage everyone to get involved to the best of your ability to make HSD the best place for not only you, but your coworkers, your students, your children and your future coworkers. Together we can make a difference.

Hi, I'm Paola! I am very excited to serve as your HCU Organizing Officer. I am looking forward to meeting new members and helping our current members. I have worked for the Hillsboro School District for 12 years, first as a Bilingual Assistant, then as an elementary office manager, and for the last three years as an Administrative Assistant for the Technology Department. I have three boys: 19, 10 and 4 years old. I love spending time with my family and friends, and during my free time, l enjoy watching some good shows. My boys play sports, and you will probably find me at the soccer field or basketball court cheering on them. I am from Guatemala, bilingual in English/Spanish. I am excited to start as a union board member. It is a way to help our classified team members and make our voices heard. One goal of being a union member is to build collaborative relationships and trust among other members and all the classified staff.

POLITICAL ACTION OFFICER: Alicia Infante
My name is Alicia Infante. I have been employed with HSD since 2020. This will be my 4th year as Reedville Elementary's Wellness Instructor and my 2nd term as Political Action Officer. I love being a political action leader for our union because I'm able to help make a difference using my love for politics. I am passionate about advocating for what is right and using my voice to not only help spread awareness on issues that affect us in our day to day lives, but also how we can make changes in a meaningful way. My biggest goal in this role is to educate members on why it's important to be active in our democratic system, how it affects us, and why it's even more important to actively advocate for our rights. Someone once told me "when good people stop showing up, bad people take over the room" and I am extremely passionate about influencing people to be part of this process in any of the many ways we can. While I'm serving as Political Action Officer, I hope to share and spread the passion I have to be vocal, participate and SHOW UP to all of our Classified Professionals!
